Street Life

A hot summer day in the late '70s in Amsterdam. Once again the family life in the capital moves from behind closed doors to the open street: Mom is mending garments, Dad keeps an eye on the passers-by and Daughter seems utterly bored. How a mundane domestic scene gets to gain in interest and intrigue by moving to the forefront and happening in front of our eyes in this city's center.

About the artist MEMENTO

Under the appropriately named collective ‘Memento’, Art My Place is proud to introduce a collection of historical works by (often deliberately) anonymous artists. These photographs have been carefully selected by our team to represent a by-gone era, harking back to very different times and places, yet still with an unmistakable presence and recognizable situations. Each month we will add a new find to this series.
